These folks have inspired, amused and/or otherwise contributed a great deal to my programming..
Check 'em out. As always, you can find more on these subjects by simply typing their name in your favorite search engine..

Robert Anton Wilson
RAW... co-author of The Illuminatus Trillogy. 'Nuff said. Check out his homepage for current info, and the Deoxy RAW page for everything else. Here's a real audio interview that covers everything from Leary's Brain and Hitler's penis to the Church of the Subgenius, the CIA, witchcraft and other fun topics.
Genesis P-Orridge
Cultural Engineer, Master Musician, Sorcerer, Prankster, Sex Fiend, Comedian, Family Man (?!).. Check out his homepage for the latest Gen News. Among other things, the "father of industrial music" will soon be joining the legendary Skinny Puppy in their new line up (Nivek, cEvin, Gen). There is so much on the net that dives into just who and what Genesis is.. Check out the Disinfo Dossier and the Throbbing Gristle pages at Brainwashed for starters, or head straight to Thee Source.
Skinny Puppy
SpooOOooOOOky!! These guys rule! Funny, Smart, Tripped out.. "it's got a good beat, and I can DANCE to it" --If you ever get a chance, you MUST SEE THEM LIVE. Where do I start with these guys? They helped define cyberpunk and goth culture and hooked thousands of kids on the idea of sampling.. There's no "official" SP site but there's TONS of fan sites - including several web rings. Try Scott's Litany site and The Vault of Skinny Puppy for lots of band info, current news and pics, or listen to the internet's first 24 hour, 7 days a week Skinny Puppy radio station. All Ogre, All The Time..
Negativland
To say they're like DEVO only better would be a gross understatement. Negativland are amazing. I've seen them live twice.. The only other band who uses as many video screens or goes as all out in their performance art is Skinny Puppy. Negativland have been dubbed "culture jammers" and that pretty much sums it up. Sadly there is very little about them on the net, except their Official Homepage. Go listen to their infamous U2 "cover" song, or this real audio Nardwuar Interview. If you enjoy sampled music, Burrough's/Gyson cut-up methods and guerrilla art, you'll LOVE Negativland.

William S. Burroughs
"I am recording instrument... I do not presume to impose "story" "plot" "continuity" [...] You can cut into The Naked Lunch at any intersection point... I have written many prefaces. They atrophy and amputate spontaneous like the little toe amputates in a West African disease [...] The Naked Lunch is a blueprint, a How-To Book..."
If you go looking for Burroughs sites online you will find many dead ends.. I suggest you try the Disinfo Dossier and the Burroughs Browser .
Answer Me!
The question, of course, is "Why are you so F#@%ING STUPID??" - The magazine, of course, is the brain child of Jim Goad. This 'zine introduced me to the concept of black journalism and hooked me on 'zine culture in general (paving the way for my interests in such beauties as Murder Can Be Fun). With issues dedicated to everything from suicide and serail killing to articles "proving" Steven Spielburg is a pedophile and all the homeless should be shot.. This magazine is stunning in its ugliness. I should note, it wasn't so much the views of the author that turned me on to this rag, but the raw unchecked opinion that spewed onto it's pages. I'd never seen writing so full of uncensored passion before, let alone the subject matter (basically all that is ugly in society). Though, like the song says, nowadays "Nothing's Shocking..".. (more on MCBF here) Listen to the 6/9/01 broadcast of Jim Goad's radio show LET'S FIGHT!

Turn On. Tune In. Drop Out.
No, that's not the guy from Heaven's Gate.. It's Dr. Timothy Leary! My favorite book by Leary is Neuropolitics. If you could only read one thing he wrote, read that. I got to see him in 1988 in Eugene.. I made flyers and put them all over my highschool the day of the Event.. the teachers took them all down about an hour after I put them up though. Check out the Leary Page at Deoxy, the Official page and the Vaults of Erowid's Leary Profile for starters. If you've never read any of his articles, i suggest you start with The 8-Circuit Model Of Consciousness - A Lurker's Guide.
Comic Books...
I started collecting comics in 1979. Rom Spacenight was the first series i collected (I had everything from issue 1 to 60 or 70 or something, plus every crossover I could find). I've collected lots of comics over the years;Twisted Tales, Savage Sword of Conana, Heavy Metal, Groo the Wanderer, X-Factor, Steve Gallacci's Albedo Anthropolimorphics, Critters, Nervous Rex, Ghost Rider, Son of Satan, Dead World, Alien Worlds, House of Mystery, Wierd War Tales, Plop, Mad Magazine, Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Captain Carrot and the Amazing Zoo Crew... Comics are a vital part of growing up. I don't have the time right now to figure out why, but i'm pretty sure I'm right. SO - this goes out to all the comic book writers and illustrators that fueled my passion for sci-fi, horror and vigilante justice in day-glow tights.

Crispin Hellion Glover
International Man of Mystery. I love to watch him act. He is so.. odd.. His spoken word and music is a bit too crazy for me -whether he's joking and i'm not getting it or truely is mental or something in between.. i don't know.. It reminds me too much of the crazy people i know in real life. WHATEVER THE CASE - Crispin is one of my top favorite actors of all time.. "My Poisoned Wife" is a great CPG fan site, and there's a real audio interview with him here, at the Nardwuar site. I suppose I could have picked other acters, or directors, or something to fill this slot (simply because FILM in general has played a major roll in shaping my mind) but for the time being I'll let this small blurb about Mr. Glover reside here..

Howard Philips Lovecraft
H.P. Lovecraft is my favorite author. My life as a fan of sci-fi and horror led me to discover his Cthulhu Mythos stories and since that discovery I've become an avid Cthulhu Cultist and fanatic. Nothing else compares to the wierd worlds he created. There are lots and lots of HPL sites on the net. Many other authors have contributed to his Mythos - Psycho author Robert Bloch, Conan creater Robert E. Howard and "Master of Horror" Stephen King are but a few. The game company Chaosium has played a large roll in (re)introducing Lovecraft to the latter part of the 20th century. His imagination has touched modern horror in ways many people will never know. That he created the Necronomicon is only a tiny example.. By the way, this is the ONLY picture of Lovecraft smiling I have ever seen.. That is a smile, isn't it?
